Hotel Kadal

This is Hotel Kadal over in Rajajinagar 638/8. I should clarify we are more of an eatery than a place with beds, though the name says hotel. That’s just how we named it back when we started. We sit on a busy stretch of the road. You can see our sign from the intersection if the trucks aren't parked in the way. Inside, we have about six tables. They are the heavy wooden kind that don't wobble. We don't have air conditioning, just the big ceiling fans that we keep on high. It gets a bit warm in the afternoons when the kitchen is going full blast. My wife helps with the accounts and I'm usually in the back making sure the supplies came in. We buy our vegetables from the market nearby every morning. The menu is pretty short. We found that if we try to make too many things, nothing turns out right. So we just stick to what we know. It’s a family-run place. Our son helps out on the weekends when he isn't at school. We have a lot of regular customers who have been coming for years. They don't even look at the menu anymore, they just tell us what they want. It’s not a place for a fancy date, but it’s good for a lunch. We just keep things simple and honest. We don't have a big story, just a lot of daily work.
