Hindustan Marbles & Granites

Hindustan Marbles & Granites has been at 5 Wilson Garden for quite a long time. It’s a small space, and we have stuff stacked up everywhere you look. If you walk in, you’ll probably see me or one of the guys covered in a bit of white dust. That is just how it goes when you work with marble and granite all day. We keep it straightforward here. We don't have a fancy showroom with bright lights. Most of the slabs are leaning against the walls outside or under the basic roof we put up. Wilson Garden is a busy neighborhood, so there is always noise from the street. We’ve got a couple of old saws that we use for cutting pieces to size. Sometimes they are a bit temperamental, but we know how to fix them. People come to us when they need a piece for a kitchen or maybe a small repair job at home. We don't do big corporate presentations. You just come in, look at what’s available, and we talk about the price. It’s a very local way of doing things. I’ve lived in this area my whole life, so I know most of the neighbors and the other shop owners around here. We just try to get the work done right and go home to our families at the end of the day. It's just a living for us and we're used to the dust.
