We’ve been at 250 JP Nagar for a long time, selling marble and granite to anyone who stops by. It’s a dusty job, and our clothes usually have stone dust on them by the end of the day. H M S Granites Marble Co is basically just a yard full of heavy slabs. Moving these things takes a lot of effort and we have to be really careful not to crack them. People come in looking for stuff for their kitchens or floors, and we show them what we have in stock. Sometimes the colors don't match exactly what they saw in a magazine, but that’s just how natural stone is. We don't have a fancy showroom with lights and air conditioning. It’s just the yard and a small office where we handle the bills. JP Nagar is a good spot for us, though traffic can be a nightmare when we’re trying to load a truck. We work with a few local builders and some regular families who are just fixing up their homes. It’s loud here because of the cutting machines, but you get used to it. My hands are always rough from handling the stone, but it’s honest work. If you need a piece of granite, you just come down to number 250 and we can talk about what fits your budget. We don't do much advertising, mostly just people seeing the sign when they drive past. It’s a simple business and we like it that way.
