Grand Magrath Hotel

Magrath Road is right in the heart of things. We’re at No. 30, and it’s a pretty old-school spot compared to the new malls around the corner. The building has a lot of history, and you can see it in the high ceilings and the way the hallways are laid out. It’s busy outside, always cars honking and people walking towards Brigade Road. Inside, we just try to keep things steady. It’s a lot of work maintaining an older building like this. Something always needs fixing, whether it’s a leaky tap or a creaky floorboard. We have a lot of regular guests who have been coming here for twenty years. I spend most of my day at the front or walking through the halls to check on the staff. It’s a different vibe here; it feels a bit more solid than the modern places. The 560025 area is great for walking, though the sidewalk right outside our door is a bit narrow. We don't use a lot of fancy technology, just the basics to get people checked in and out. It’s a busy life, but I like being in this part of Bangalore. You see all sorts of people walking past our entrance every single day. We just keep the doors open and make sure the rooms are ready for whoever is arriving next from the airport or the station.
