Golden Granites

We are out in the Jigani Industrial Area, specifically at 14 P in the KIADB 2nd Phase. It’s right across from the Jigani Weigh Bridge, which makes it pretty easy to spot. Golden Granites is where we keep all the stone slabs and blocks. The place is mostly outdoors because granite takes up a lot of room. It’s a dusty environment with the heavy smell of cut stone in the air. We have a few cranes and some cutting machines that run pretty much all day. It’s a lot of heavy lifting. We spend our time measuring slabs and showing customers the different patterns in the rock. No two pieces are ever the same, which is the interesting part of the job. It gets very noisy when the saws are going through the thick granite. We don’t wear suits here; it’s all boots and heavy clothes because of the water and mud. Sometimes the trucks get backed up waiting for the weigh bridge across the street. We’ve been in this part of Jigani for a long time. It’s a tough business but we’re used to the physical labor. Most people come here because they want to see the material in person before they buy it. We just let them walk around and look at the stock. We usually close up once the sun starts setting and the yard gets too dark for moving stone safely.
