Golden Beauty Saloon

We are on Cottonpet Main Road in Bangalore. The address is 560053, right in the heart of one of the older parts of the city. Cottonpet is always crowded with people and traffic, so there is never a dull moment outside our door. The saloon has been here for a good while. It’s a basic space with a few chairs and the tools of the trade. We don't believe in overcomplicating things. When you walk in, you’ll see the same mirrors and the same tiled floor we’ve had for years. It’s a bit worn out in places, but it works for us. The smell of hair tonic and soap is pretty much soaked into the walls by now. We open up the doors early to catch the morning breeze before the heat of the day sets in. Bangalore has changed a lot, but this part of Cottonpet still feels like the old days. We get all kinds of people coming in. Some are in a hurry and some want to sit and talk for an hour. We listen to a lot of stories while we work. It’s a practical job. We keep the razors sharp and the water warm. There’s no fancy lobby or receptionist here. You just come in, wait your turn if there’s a queue, and get your hair done. It’s a local spot where people feel comfortable just being themselves.
