Ganapathy Granite & Marbles

If you drive down Kanakapura Road, you’ll find us at number 18 on the 1st Main Road. We’ve got stacks of granite and marble slabs all over the place. Ganapathy Granite & Marbles is a pretty straightforward business. We buy the stone, cut it down when someone needs a specific size, and help load it onto trucks. It’s heavy work and the yard gets really hot in the afternoons. I’ve spent more time than I can count moving slabs around with the crane so people can see the patterns in the stone. Some of the pieces have been sitting here for a while, while others go out the door the same day they arrive. We get a lot of dust on everything, so we’re always hosing down the floor. People come by when they’re building a kitchen or doing up their floors. They usually walk around the yard for an hour trying to decide between grey or black granite. We just let them look. There isn't any high-pressure selling here. We just tell them the price and see if it works for them. The 1st Main Road gets pretty crowded with trucks, so getting the big delivery lorries in and out can be a real headache. But we’ve been here long enough to know how to manage the space. It’s just a regular stone yard run by people who know how to lift heavy things and get the job done.
