Galaxy Granites

Galaxy Granites is over on D.C. Halli Main Road, specifically in Shoba Arcade. It's right near Vijaya Enclave if you're looking for a landmark. The area around Bilekahalli is always full of traffic, especially with it being just off Bannerghatta Road. We have a lot of stone slabs sitting around. Granite is heavy stuff, so we spend a lot of time moving pieces with the crane or making sure they’re propped up safely. It’s a dusty job, honestly. The machines for cutting and polishing make a fair bit of noise, but that’s the sound of work getting done. We’ve got different colors and patterns, mostly whatever is being pulled from the quarries lately. People come in looking for kitchen tops or flooring. We show them what we have in the yard. It's not a shiny showroom like you see in the malls. It’s a working yard. We wear old clothes because of the mud and the stone dust. The office is just a small corner where we keep the books and take payments. Some days are slow, just waiting for the next truck, and other days it's a mess of activity. We just try to keep the slabs organized so we don't have to dig through a pile to find what someone wants. It's hard work, but we've been doing it at this spot for a while now. The rain makes it messy, but we keep going.
