G N Stores

G N Stores is right by the Gandhi Bazar Circle in Basavanagudi. If you know this area, you know how crowded it gets, especially in the mornings when the flower sellers are out. We are at K-40. It’s a small shop, and it’s been here for quite a long time. My family and a couple of helpers run the place. We sell the usual things people need for their homes. It’s not like those big supermarkets where you don’t know anyone. Here, we know most of the people who walk through the door. We talk about the weather or the price of vegetables while we pack up the bags. The shelves are a bit cramped because we try to fit everything in. Sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what someone is looking for, but we usually get there. The building is old, and the floors are a bit worn down from all the feet walking over them. We don't have a website or any ads. People just know we are here at the circle. It gets noisy with the buses and the honking, but that’s just Basavanagudi. We open early and close when the street quiets down. It’s a simple way to make a living. We just keep the stock ready and wait for the regulars to stop by. I usually sit by the entrance to say hello to everyone. It's nice to see the same faces every week.
