Fairdeal Polymers

We are located in the Amrut Rice & Pulse Mill Compound, which is part of the G I D C area in Kamakshi Palya Phase-1. Our unit is number 65 2. It’s an industrial vibe through and through, with trucks coming in and out of the compound all the time. Fairdeal Polymers is basically a large shed where we keep the machinery and the raw materials. It smells a bit like plastic most of the time, which you get used to after about ten minutes. We don’t have much in the way of air conditioning, so the big doors stay open to catch whatever breeze comes through. There’s always a bit of dust because of the mill next door, but we try to keep our area as tidy as possible. Most of the guys here live nearby, so we walk or cycle to work. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. We just focus on the machines and making sure the runs go through without breaking anything. When something does break, we spend the afternoon with wrenches and grease trying to fix it. It’s practical work. We have a small bench outside under a tree where we sit during our break. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. Every day is pretty much the same, starting with checking the power and ending with locking up the big gates before heading home for dinner.
