Faces Unisex Salon And Spa sits on Crescent Road in Bangalore. We are at number 33, which is tucked behind the Golf Club and right opposite the back entry of Hotel Taj West End. It’s a nice, green part of the city with a lot of trees around. The salon is a unisex place, so we see all kinds of people coming through the door. It’s not a huge, flashy establishment. We have a few stations for hair and a separate area for spa treatments. The atmosphere is generally relaxed. I try to keep the place clean, though the Bangalore dust finds its way in somehow. We have some plants near the entrance to make it feel a bit more welcoming. The equipment is modern enough, but we don't go overboard with high-tech gadgets. It’s about the work we do with our hands. Some days it is very quiet and you can hear the birds, other days it is a bit of a rush. We don't have a big corporate team managing things. It’s just us. Customers come in for a haircut or a massage and stay for a bit of a chat. It’s a practical business in a good location. We just do our best to make sure everyone leaves looking a bit better than when they walked in. The coffee machine broke last week so I’ve been getting tea from the stall nearby for anyone who wants it. The floor tiles are a bit chipped.
