Engineer

I am working out of Roopen Agrahara, right near the Silk Board junction in Bangalore. It is a very busy spot, as anyone who lives here knows. I actually operate out of the S. N Mens Hostel area, which is where a lot of us stay when we first come to the city for work. Being an engineer in Bangalore is pretty intense because everything moves so fast. I don't have a big corporate office with a lobby or anything like that. Most of my work happens on my laptop or out at different sites across the city. The traffic near Silk Board is a nightmare, so I try to schedule my meetings carefully to avoid the worst of it. It is a bit of a grit-and-grind lifestyle. I spend my evenings looking over plans and my days running between different projects. People often ask why I don't have a proper storefront, but in this city, you just go where the work is. It is just me trying to make a living and use my degree. I help out with local contractors and small builders who need someone to sign off on things or check the math. It is honest, tiring work. I usually grab a coffee at a local stall and then get back to it. That's the life of a local engineer in this part of town. No fluff, just getting things built and moving forward with the day.
