Our office is in the Embassy Centre on 11 Crescent Road, right in the Kumara Park area. It’s a decent building, though finding a parking spot nearby can be a real headache during the work week. Inside, you'll see rows of desks with big monitors because everyone is working on engineering drawings and technical stuff. You won't find bean bags or a pool table here. Mostly, it is just people in shirts focused on their screens. We deal with a lot of technical problems and designs all day long. Afternoon sun hits the windows and makes the office a bit warm, so we keep the blinds pulled down most of the time. Every now and then, we gather around the big table in the middle to figure out why a particular plan isn't working out. It’s a lot of quiet thinking and occasional frustrated sighs when a software crashes. Kumara Park is a nice neighborhood to walk around during lunch, at least to get some fresh air away from the computers. Stacks of old blueprints sit in the corner, and we probably should have thrown them out years ago. It’s a busy environment but we try to keep it relaxed enough so nobody gets too stressed out. The day usually ends with us finishing up the engineering work and heading home as the sun goes down, ready to do it all again tomorrow.
