Crowne Plaza Bengaluru Electronics City is located at 43 Electronics City on Hosur Road. It’s a large, modern building that stands out in the area. While the guests see the nice lobby and the clean rooms, a lot of us spend our time in the back areas like the massive kitchens, the laundry rooms, and the small staff offices. It’s a constant, never-ending cycle of cleaning, cooking, and fixing things that break. The Hosur Road traffic is always a big topic of conversation among the staff when we arrive for our morning or evening shifts. The back hallways are very long and painted a simple grey, which is quite different from the guest areas. We have a staff canteen where we eat our meals in a bit of a hurry before getting back to our posts. There’s a huge amount of coordination needed to keep a place this size running smoothly every day. Housekeeping is always on the move with their heavy carts, and the maintenance guys are forever chasing some small leak or a flickering light. We have a lot of different departments, from security to the front desk, but we all see each other in the locker rooms. It’s a 24-hour operation, so the lights never really go out in the building. Some people work the late-night shift and go home when the sun is coming up. It’s a lot of physical work that people don't usually notice. We just keep things moving.
