Our workshop is over in Chamrajpet, tucked away in the 202 spot near Ghatlodia. It is a bit of a maze back here if you are not used to the streets, but we like the extra space it gives us. Most mornings start pretty early with a lot of metal clanging and the smell of grease. We deal with various engine parts and mechanical repairs mostly. It is dusty work, so our work boots are never really clean for long. People bring us things that just stopped working, and we have to take them completely apart to see why. Sometimes it is an easy fix that takes ten minutes, and other times we are scratching our heads for hours. We have tools scattered across the workbenches, but we usually know where everything is. It is definitely not a showroom. It is a place where actual work gets done. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but that is not really a priority for us right now. We drink a lot of tea while looking at technical diagrams on the desk. Most of our neighbors are also in the trade, so there is always someone around to borrow a specific tool from if ours goes missing. We have been in this building for many years now. It has really grown on us over time. You get used to the sounds of the street and the rhythm of the machines. We focus on finishing the job correctly so people can get back to their own business.
