DTDC Courier & Cargo

This DTDC Courier & Cargo branch is right on Nizampura Main Road 1, over in the Whitefield area. It’s a busy part of town, so there is always someone coming in with a parcel under their arm. The floor is made of that old grey tile and it’s seen a lot of traffic over the years. We have a big blue counter where we weigh the bags and boxes. Behind us, the shelves are usually overflowing with envelopes waiting for the evening truck. We use a lot of packing tape here. You can hear that ripping sound all day long. Sometimes we run out of bubble wrap and have to scramble to find more before the next customer shows up. The computer we use for the bookings is a bit slow, so we end up chatting with people while the screen loads. We talk about the weather or the construction down the road. It makes the time go by. We’ve got a small calendar pinned to the wall where we mark off the days. Working in Whitefield means we get a lot of office workers and also people sending gifts back to their villages. It’s a mix of everyone. We aren't doing anything fancy, just moving things from point A to point B and making sure the labels stay stuck on tight. It’s a living. We just keep our heads down and try to get the work done before the main gate closes for the night. Most people are in a hurry but we try to be as quick as we can.
