This orthopedic clinic belongs to Dr. K R Nagaraj and sits at 41/B in the 3rd Stage of Vinayaka Layout, Vijayanagar. Bangalore traffic can be a nightmare, but once you get into this layout, it’s a bit more manageable. The clinic is on the ground floor, which is helpful because many of our patients have trouble with stairs due to their bone or joint issues. We have a few sturdy chairs in the waiting area and some racks with informational pamphlets that nobody ever seems to touch. The floor is concrete with a simple finish, easy to keep clean when people come in with muddy shoes during the monsoon. We have an X-ray machine in the back and a room with a heavy table for examinations. Dr. Nagaraj has been practicing here for a long time, so the walls have a few old certificates that are slightly yellowed at the edges. It’s a no-nonsense kind of place. We don’t have a receptionist in a suit; usually, it’s just one of us handling the files and the phone. We see people with all sorts of breaks and pains, from young kids who fell off bikes to older folks from the Vinayaka Layout area. We just try to keep the wait times down, though sometimes things run late if an emergency comes in. It’s a solid, local clinic that’s been part of the neighborhood for years. The clock on the wall ticks quite loudly, but nobody seems to mind it while they wait.
