Dinesh Traders

Dinesh Traders sits at 508/47 in Jayaprakash Naryan Nagar, over in Yelachenahalli. It’s a part of the neighborhood that’s seen a lot of changes, but we’ve stayed put. Our setup is pretty straightforward. We handle a lot of different supplies and trade items that local people and other small businesses need. The front of the shop is usually where we keep the heavier bags and stock that comes in every week. It can get a bit dusty when the trucks are unloading, but that’s just part of the day. We don’t spend much time on decorations. Most of our space is used for storing goods so they’re ready when someone asks. People from around Yelachenahalli know where we are because we’ve been at this address for quite a bit. It’s not a big fancy showroom, just a practical place to get business done. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it’s quiet enough to sit and have a tea. We try to keep things moving along. If someone needs a specific quantity of something, we go back and find it in the stacks. It’s hard work, lifting and moving things all day, but it’s what we know. The neighbors are mostly good people who are also just trying to get through their workday. We open up the shutters every morning and see what the day brings. Usually, by the time we close, the floor needs a good sweep and the ledgers need a quick look to see what to order.
