Deepak Diagnostics

Our lab is in G-12 of the Lakshmi Complex over in Khetwadi. It is tucked away near Mehar Bazar and Falkland Road, so it stays pretty hectic outside. We start very early in the morning, often before the sun is fully up. That is when most people come in for their blood tests before they go to work. We spend a lot of time handling vials and writing down names on labels. The walls are a plain white and we try to keep everything as clean as we can. It’s a small space on Krishnarajendra Road, so it can get a bit crowded in the waiting area during the morning rush. We see all sorts of people coming through Kharwa Galli to find us. Some are nervous about their results and others are just here for a routine checkup. We don’t have fancy furniture or a big reception desk. It is mostly just the equipment and the desks where we do the paperwork. There is always a lot of paper. We have to be careful with the details because people are counting on us. Sometimes the neighborhood is noisy with the market nearby, but we just focus on the slides and the samples. It’s a serious job but we try to be friendly. When the day ends, we spend a lot of time cleaning up for the next morning. It is a long day but it feels important. We go home tired every single evening. But we are back again the next day.
