Davanagere Benne Dose Hotel

If you walk down towards Basaveshwara Nagar Sector 37 D 4/378, you’ll find our place. We’ve been running Davanagere Benne Dose Hotel for a bit, and it’s always a bit of a rush in the mornings. The kitchen gets really hot once the tavas are fired up. We use a lot of butter, that’s just how it’s done, and the smell usually drifts out onto the street. It’s not a very big space, so people often end up standing around or sharing tables when it gets crowded. We don’t mind the noise, it makes the day go faster. The floors get a bit greasy sometimes no matter how much we scrub them, but that’s just how a busy dose place is. We get our supplies from the same guys we’ve known for years. Every morning starts with grinding the batter and making sure the chutney is fresh. Sometimes we run out of something earlier than expected, and we just have to tell people we're done for the day. It’s just a few of us working here, trying to keep the orders straight when five people are shouting at once. We don’t have fancy menus or anything, just what’s written on the wall. It’s a bit chaotic during the breakfast rush, but we managed to get through it every single morning. We like being in this part of Basaveshwara Nagar, even if the parking is a bit of a nightmare.
