Fine Steel Furnitures

I've been here at No. 16 for a while now. Fine Steel Furnitures isn't a fancy place, just a workshop really. We are right in Fireworks Colony, just off J.C. Road. You probably know the spot if you've ever gone to the Urvashi Theatre to catch a movie. It's usually quite loud outside with all the cars and bikes heading toward the Passport Office on Lalbagh Road. My desk is right by the front door where I can see everyone passing by. We mostly deal with metal cupboards and sturdy chairs that last a long time. People stop in after they finish their work at the government offices nearby. Sometimes the dust from the road gets on everything, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the display pieces. It's a simple setup. We have the workshop in the back where most of the noise comes from. It’s just me and a couple of others here most days. We don't have a big showroom or anything, just the items lined up along the walls. The 1st Cross isn't too wide, so it gets cramped when a delivery truck comes in. We’ve stayed in this same spot because everyone knows where to find us. It’s a busy part of town, but we’re used to it. The tea shop at the corner keeps us going. Most of our day is just moving heavy steel around and talking to neighbors who need something for their small offices. We keep going.
