Chandrika Tiles Co.

Chandrika Tiles Co operates out of 202 and 203 on 17th D Main Road. Having two spots next to each other helps us keep the different types of stone separated, but we still end up running back and forth all day long. The street is usually lined with parked bikes, which makes it hard to unload the big crates. We started this because we had some space and some connections in the tile trade. It’s a lot of physical labor, and by the end of the day, we are usually pretty tired. We don't have a big marketing budget or a shiny website. People mostly find us because they are walking by or someone told them we have a good variety of stock. The walls inside are covered in sample boards that we’ve put up over the years. Some of them are a bit dated now, but people still like to look at them. We have a small fan in the corner that doesn't do much, but it’s better than nothing during the summer months. Most of the time, we are just checking invoices and making sure the crates don't have too many broken pieces inside. It’s a simple business, and we try to keep it that way. No big fuss, just a lot of tiles and a lot of work to keep the place running.
