Chandra Granite Industries

Chandra Granite Industries is right there in Hoskote, sitting next to the Royal TVS Showroom. If you see all the bikes lined up next door, you know you are in the right place. Working with granite is a heavy job, so there is always a lot of grit and stone dust around the yard. It’s not the cleanest kind of work, but it’s what we do every day. We spend most of our time out in the sun or under the sheds, moving these big slabs of stone around. They are heavy and you have to be careful not to chip the edges. The sound of the cutters can be pretty loud sometimes, so we’ve gotten used to shouting a bit to be heard. Being next to the TVS showroom is handy because everyone knows where that is. We don't have any polished speeches or fancy brochures to hand out. We just show people the stones we have in stock and let them decide for themselves. The Hoskote area is growing fast, so there’s always something new being built nearby. We see a lot of trucks coming and going all day long. It's a bit of a rough-and-tumble environment, but we like the physical side of it. When the day is over, we’re usually pretty tired and covered in dust, but it’s a good kind of tired. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing.
