Celes Tile

The shop is located at 2005 Indira Nagar, right across the road from the Hyundai showroom. If you know that area, you know it gets pretty crowded with cars and people walking around. We have a lot of tiles stacked up inside. Some are leaning against the walls and others are in crates. It is a bit of a maze sometimes. When people come in, they usually spend a long time looking at the different patterns and feeling the textures. Tiles are heavy, so moving them around for people to see takes some effort. We spend a lot of time sweeping because there is always a bit of grit or dust on the floor from the samples. It is not a polished corporate space. It is just a place where we keep the stock and talk to people about what might work for their kitchens or bathrooms. Sometimes the rain makes the front step a bit slippery, so we have to watch out for that. We keep a small desk in the corner for doing the bills and drinking coffee. Most days are just spent showing people the different sizes and colors we have available. It is interesting to see what people choose. We just stay here and keep the shop open until the evening traffic starts to die down a bit. It’s a lot of lifting and shifting but we are used to it.
