Our office is over at the B.D.A Flats in Austin Town, number 996 B 27. It’s an older part of Bangalore, and the buildings have seen a lot of years go by. We operate from here, managing the hotel business without any of the fancy glass and steel you see in the newer parts of town. Austin Town has a character of its own, and we fit right in. It’s a bit crowded, and the parking can be a real headache, but it’s where we’ve always been. Inside, it’s mostly just desks piled with ledgers and files. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to vendors. It’s a very practical way of working. We don't have a PR team or a bunch of polished brochures. If you want to know something, you just come by and ask. The staff here has been with us for a long time, so we’re like a small family. We know the neighbors and the guy who sells tea at the corner. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just wait it out, chatting until it comes back. It’s a slow, steady kind of life. We focus on keeping the hotels running and making sure the staff at the locations have what they need. It’s simple, honest work that keeps us busy from morning till night. We aren't trying to change the world, just trying to keep the business going properly.
