Kirthu Granite

Kirthu Granite is located at No. 9 and 10, right opposite the railway lane off the Ring Road in the R. M. V Extension, specifically the Bhoopsandra area. You can hear the trains passing by quite often, which is something you just get used to after a few days of working here. Being off the Ring Road makes it easy for the big trucks to reach us, but it also means there is always a layer of road dust on everything. We spend a good part of the morning just hosing down the granite slabs so the natural grain shows through. The yard is a bit tight with all the stone we have squeezed into the space at No. 9 and 10. It takes some skill to move the crane around without bumping into anything. Bhoopsandra is a busy little pocket, and we’ve been here long enough that the local tea seller knows exactly when we need a break. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning; it's mostly just the open yard and a small desk for the bills. Dealing with granite is heavy work and it’s hard on the hands, but that’s the nature of the business. We keep our heads down and handle the stone as it comes in. Most people who come by are just looking for something specific for their floors or counters. We show them what’s in the stacks and let the stone speak for itself without any big sales pitch.
