Our office, Best Engineering Aids & Consultancies Pvt Ltd, is located on the second floor of the building at 9 Infantry Road. It’s right there by Chincholi Bunder Road. Being on the second floor means we get a bit of a climb every morning, but it keeps us moving. The space is filled with desks, some old drafting tools, and stacks of paper because that is just the nature of engineering consultancy. It’s a bit cramped sometimes when everyone is in at once. We’ve got windows that look out onto the street, so we see the traffic moving along Infantry Road all day. It gets noisy, but you get used to it after a week or two. The building itself has seen better days, but it’s sturdy and serves its purpose for what we do. We don’t really do anything flashy here. Most of the time is spent looking at plans or talking about technical stuff on the phone. It’s a local operation, and we know the area pretty well. Sometimes we walk down to the little shops on the corner to get a snack or a tea. It’s a regular job in a regular part of town. We don’t have a big reception area or anything, just a door that leads straight into the workspace. It feels like a real workshop in some ways, even if it’s mostly just office work. We keep things simple and just try to get the tasks done.
