Been There Done That

If you know Mahathma Gandhi Road, you know how loud and crowded it can get on a Saturday afternoon. We are tucked away at number 73, right in the thick of things. It’s a strange feeling being in such a famous part of town, but for us, it’s just the place where we go to work every day. The pavement outside is always uneven and people are constantly tripping over the loose stones near the entrance. We’ve thought about fixing that little patch of ground ourselves, but it’s technically part of the public walk. Inside at number 73, things are a bit more controlled, though the noise from the street still finds its way through the glass. We don't spend much time worrying about how the place looks to outsiders. We just keep the shelves tidy and make sure we have everything ready for whoever happens to wander in. MG Road has changed a lot over the years, with new buildings going up and old ones coming down, but we’ve stayed right here. It’s a bit of a walk from the nearest parking, so we see a lot of people who are out for a stroll. We don't have any flashy signs to pull people in; the address is usually enough for those who are looking for us. It's just a simple setup where we spend most of our waking hours. We just exist here.
