Battery Mark

Battery Mark is located in Basavanagudi on Vanivilas Road, right at number 31. This is one of those older parts of Bangalore where things feel a bit more relaxed, even if the traffic has picked up lately. Our shop is small, but we cram a lot of batteries into it. We have them for everything from small scooters to big cars. Vanivilas Road has some nice trees, and sometimes I just stand at the door for a minute to breathe when it’s not too busy. Most of our day is spent checking charge levels and helping people swap out their old, dead batteries for new ones. It’s heavy lifting, so you have to be careful with your back. The shop has an old-fashioned feel to it, maybe because we haven't changed the layout in years. We have a small desk where we keep the ledger and some basic tools for the terminals. If someone comes in with a battery that just needs a bit of distilled water or a quick charge, we tell them that instead of trying to sell them something new right away. It builds a bit of trust with the neighbors. We stay open until the evening, and as the sun goes down, the street lights come on and the area gets a bit quieter. It’s a decent place to work, and we’ve grown fond of the regular faces we see walking past every day.
