Battery Emporium is located in Madivala, over at 6th Cross on the 9th Main in Ns Palya. The address is 57/3 if you are looking for the exact door. We spend our days surrounded by heavy lead batteries and acid smells. It’s a workshop kind of vibe here. We handle batteries for cars, bikes, and even those big home inverters that people need when the power goes out. Moving these things around is heavy work, so we’re usually a bit tired by the afternoon. We have a lot of chargers running in the back to test the old batteries that people bring in. Sometimes they just need a bit of distilled water and a good charge, but other times they are completely dead and need replacing. It’s a messy job, and our hands are usually stained with grease or dust. The shop is tucked away in a residential-meets-commercial area, so we get a mix of people coming in. We don't have a big sign or bright lights, just the stacks of black battery boxes and the tools we use to test them. It gets pretty busy during the monsoon when everyone's car battery seems to fail at the same time. We just take them one by one, checking the voltage and seeing what can be done. It’s honest work, and we’ve been doing it at this same spot for a long time now. We just stay here and work until the shutters go down.
