Bangalore Stock Exchange Limited has its place at No 270 in Remco Layout. This part of Vijayanagar II Stage is usually a bit quieter than the main roads, which we like. We’ve been around for quite a while, seeing the market go up and down from our desks on 5th B Main Road. It’s a lot of paperwork and keeping track of numbers. People think it’s all shouting and phones ringing, but mostly it’s just quiet concentration. We have a solid team here. Many of us have been in this building so long we know every creak in the floorboards. We deal with the local side of finance. It's important work for the people who rely on us, even if it doesn't always seem exciting to outsiders. The office is pretty standard. We’ve got some old wooden furniture and stacks of records that go back years. Dealing with stocks means you have to be careful with the details. We try not to rush things because mistakes are a pain to fix later. Sometimes the traffic in Vijayanagar makes getting here a bit of a chore, but once you’re inside, it’s a different world. We’re just a bunch of people who understand how the markets work and try to keep things running smoothly for everyone involved. It’s a steady pace here and we like it that way. Most days we just finish up and head home to our families.
