Balaji Power House

Balaji Power House is located over on Banaswadi Main Road in the Parekh Market area, specifically at M G Road 287/2. It’s a bit of a confusing spot for people who aren't from around here because of the way the roads meet. The market is always crowded, so there’s a lot of shouting and horns honking outside our door. We sell power equipment and electrical supplies. The shop is packed from floor to ceiling with boxes. We have to use a ladder just to reach the lightbulbs or the heavy-duty cables. It’s a bit dusty, and the floor is concrete because we’re always dragging heavy crates across it. We don’t have a website or anything like that; we just talk to the people who walk in. Most of our customers are local contractors or people trying to fix a fuse at home. We know where every single item is, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. The tea stall next door is where we spend our breaks. Dealing with electricity stuff means we have to be careful with what we suggest to folks. We spend our days counting stock and helping people figure out which wire they actually need. It’s a busy, cramped place but we’ve been here long enough that it feels like home. The paperwork is mostly hand-written in big yellow books that sit on the main counter for the day and we close up around eight.
