Baba Mens Saloon

Our little shop sits right on 141 Mackan Road in the Shivaji Nagar area. It’s been here for a while and most people around Bangalore know us by being close to Al Badar Masjid. It gets pretty loud outside with all the traffic and people walking by but inside we just keep things moving. There are three chairs and some old mirrors that have seen a lot of faces over the years. We open up early and stay till late because that’s when the men coming home from work need a quick trim or a shave. Sometimes the power goes out and we just use the hand clippers until the lights come back. It’s not a fancy place with air conditioning or anything like that. Just some fans and a radio playing in the corner. People stop in to chat about the cricket or what’s happening in the neighborhood. We don’t have a big sign but the door is usually open unless it’s raining hard. The floor gets covered in hair pretty fast so we are always sweeping it up between visitors. Shivaji Nagar can be a bit chaotic but we like it here. It’s just how things are at Baba Mens Saloon. We know the regulars and what they want without them having to say much. It’s just a normal spot for a haircut and some quiet time away from the street noise.
