Asian Paints-Freelance architect and interior designer

Being a freelance architect and interior designer with the Asian Paints name attached is a bit of a unique situation. My workspace is located at 204 in 'Hoysala Sai Shelters' on D. Rajagopal Road. It’s right in Sanjayanagar, which is a nice part of Bangalore to work from. I don't have a huge staff or a big corporate office. It's mostly just me and a few people I call on when a project gets bigger. Most of my time is spent talking about colors, textures, and how to fit furniture into tight spaces. I also do a lot of technical architectural drawings. Living and working in Sanjayanagar means I’m right in the middle of a lot of residential activity. People often call me to come look at their apartments or houses nearby. I spend many hours on my computer or out visiting hardware and paint shops. It’s a lot of running around. The office at Hoysala Sai Shelters is where I keep all my samples and catalogs. It’s not a showroom; it’s a working office where I get my hands dirty with site measurements. Some days are slow and involve a lot of research, while others are a complete blur of meetings and site visits. I like the independence of being a freelancer. It allows me to focus on the small details that really matter to the people living in the spaces I design. Working this way keeps me busy and I enjoy the variety of projects that come my way.
