We are situated at 3753 Gayathri Nagar, which is on Raj Mehal Road. It’s a bit of a specific spot because we are right behind the Arunkumari Maternity Home. It makes it easy to give people directions because everyone knows where the clinic is. The street we are on is relatively quiet compared to the main road, which I appreciate when I’m trying to focus on my notes. My desk is pushed up against the window so I can see the trees outside. It’s a bit of a small office, and sometimes the printer acts up and makes a loud grinding noise, but it eventually spits out what I need. I started Arunachala Consultant because I wanted a place of my own where I could work at my own pace without someone looking over my shoulder. There’s a small tea shop at the corner where I go almost every day at 4 PM. The owner there knows exactly how I like it. Inside the office, I’ve got some shelves that are bowing a bit under the weight of old ledgers. It’s not the most modern place, but it’s comfortable and it’s mine. I like the neighborhood because it feels like a real community where people actually recognize you. The walk from the main road isn't too long, and it’s good for the legs after sitting all day.
