My shop, Anu Battery Works, is located at 139 Mission Road, right in the New Bamboo Bazaar area. It’s a busy part of town, which keeps us on our toes most days. We handle all sorts of battery repairs and sales, mostly for vehicles and home backups. I started this place because I knew a bit about electrics and wanted to work for myself. The shop isn't huge, but it fits everything we need. You’ll find us tucked away near the bazaar, usually with a few old batteries sitting outside waiting to be recycled. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy casings and checking terminals. My hands are usually covered in some kind of grease by noon. We don't have any fancy signs or a big marketing budget, just the name over the door. People usually find us because they live nearby or someone told them we were here. Mission Road can get pretty crowded, especially with the bazaar traffic, but we manage. If someone comes in with a problem, we take a look and see if it’s worth fixing or if it’s time for a new one. I try to be straight with people about what they need. Some days are slow, but usually, there's someone coming in with a dead battery. It’s honest work and it keeps me busy. We’ve been at this location for a good while now and know the neighbors pretty well. There is always tea being shared with the other shop owners nearby when things get a bit quiet in the late afternoon.
