Ambika Dry Fruits Condiments

We are located right on Sarakki Main Road at number 64/1 in JP 1st Phase. It’s a busy spot and the noise from the road is constant all day. Inside the shop, it smells like a mix of dried grapes, cashews, and different spices. Glass jars are lined up on the wooden shelves. Sometimes the lids get stuck and we have to give them a good twist to open them. Much of our time goes into weighing out small portions of almonds or raisins into plastic covers. We use a little heat sealer to close them up. It’s a lot of repetitive work but it keeps the hands busy. People stop by on their way home from work to pick up something for their kitchen. The floor is made of old stone and it stays relatively cool even when it’s hot outside. We don't use any big computers for the billing, just a basic calculator and a paper pad. Sometimes we run out of change and have to ask the neighbor shop for some coins. The shelves stay a bit crowded because we try to fit in as many types of condiments as we can. We have to keep an eye on the jars to make sure they are always full. It’s not a large place but it’s enough for what we do. Dealing with the suppliers takes up most of our afternoons when the street is a little more quiet.
