Alu Fabricators

Kalasipalyam is always crowded, and being at number 50 means we are right in the thick of it. Alu Fabricators is basically a workshop where we deal with aluminum all day long. The air usually smells like cut metal and maybe a bit of oil. We have a couple of benches that are scratched up from years of use. It’s a small space, so we have to stay organized, or we’d be tripping over offcuts. The floor is concrete and stays cool even when it’s hot outside. We’ve got a small radio that’s usually tuned to a local station, though you can barely hear it over the grinding sounds. Our neighbor runs a small supply shop, so there’s always people coming and going. We don’t have a big sign out front, just the address and the name painted near the entrance. Most of the guys here live nearby, so we walk or bike in. It’s not the kind of place where you wear a suit. We’re usually covered in a bit of dust by lunchtime. We eat our tiffin boxes together in the small back area. There’s a certain way we do things at Alu Fabricators that just works for us. It’s practical work for practical people. We don't bother with fancy presentations or anything like that. If a job needs doing, we just pick up the tools and get to it. That’s the rhythm of life for us.
