Out here in the Jigani Industrial area, things are a lot different than the city center. It’s all about heavy work and machinery. We are on Road 3, and you can usually tell you're close because of the sound of stone being moved around. Aaryan Stone Pvt Ltd is where we spend most of our daylight hours. There is always a layer of dust on the floors no matter how much we sweep. We work with all kinds of slabs and blocks. It’s heavy work and my hands are always a bit rough from touching the stone all day. We have a small office area but most of the action happens outside where the trucks load up. It’s not a quiet job. The sun gets quite hot in this part of town, especially in the afternoons. We drink a lot of water and try to get the work done before it gets too late. People who come to see us are usually looking for something specific for a building project. We don’t have a showroom with bright lights. You just see the stone as it is, sitting in the yard. Sometimes the trucks get delayed and we have to wait around, but that’s just part of the industry out here in Jigani. We aren't trying to be anything more than a place that supplies stone. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes we even stay late if a big order needs to go out to a site.
