The building is pretty easy to spot once you get close to the airport side of the road. We spend most of our time looking at slabs and talking to people about different kinds of stone. It’s a lot of physical work even though we have this office space on the third floor. There is always dust on our shoes and a few stone samples lying around the desks and chairs. Sometimes the lift in the building is a bit slow so we end up taking the stairs which is good exercise for us. The noise from the airport road is always there in the background but you get used to it after a week or so. We aren’t a big corporate setup with receptionists and fancy coffee machines. Usually, it is just one of us answering the phone while trying to check a delivery list at the same time. People come in to ask about granite or marble and we just show them what we have on the list that day. It gets a bit hectic when multiple trucks are scheduled to arrive at the same time. We just try to keep things moving without too much fuss or complaining. Working with stone is heavy and messy but it is what we know how to do here in this city.
