The yard is out in Bellary, specifically in Devi Nagar at the 1st Cross. It is a hot place to work, especially in the afternoons when the sun is really beating down on the steel. Hothur Steels is run by Shaik Jabeer, who is the son of the late Shaik Sahebjan. We have been at Dno. 29/25 for quite some time now. Dealing with steel means a lot of heavy lifting and loud noises from the trucks coming in and out. The dust from the road gets on everything, so we are always dusting off the desks in the small office area. Karnataka summers are no joke and we drink a lot of water to keep going through the shift. We mostly handle orders for local builders and people who are putting up new houses in the area. It is not a glamorous job at all. Your hands get dirty and the shoes wear out fast on the gravel. We just try to keep the inventory straight so we know what we have left to sell. Sometimes the neighbors stop by just to chat for a bit while we are waiting for a delivery. It is a simple operation based on honest labor and being part of the community here in Bellary-04. We don't have a big corporate office, just our spot in Devi Nagar where the work gets done every day without much fuss or any complicated systems.
