Shanti Iron & Steel

Our place is out in Machhe, which is a bit of a drive from the main part of Belgaum. We are at 856 in the 2nd Lane of Haval Nagar. It's an industrial kind of area, so there's always trucks passing by and dust in the air. We work with iron and steel, so the place is pretty rugged. There are big stacks of material everywhere you look. It's not the kind of place you come to if you're wearing nice shoes. We spend most of our time out in the yard or by the scales. It's a lot of physical work, moving things around and making sure the counts are right. We've been here in this spot for a long time. The locals around At&Po: Machhe know us well. We aren't some big fancy corporation with a marketing department. It's just a few of us making sure the metal gets where it needs to go. Sometimes the weather in Belgaum gets pretty heavy with the rain, and we have to cover everything up fast. We just deal with the daily problems as they come up. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just sell iron and steel and try to stay busy. It’s a practical business for people who need materials for building things. That’s really all there is to it. We keep our doors open and keep working.
