If you take the Sangoor Hanavatti Road through Kiravadi, you’ll find us working away on the horticulture side of things. Our group was formed because the local growers needed a voice. We focus on the fruits and vegetables that grow around here. It is a lot of dirt under the fingernails and long hours in the sun. The weather is our boss, mostly. Sometimes we have a great year with the mangoes or whatever is in season, and other times we just scrape by. The office isn’t much to look at, just a place for us to gather and figure out the logistics of getting our produce to the markets. We talk a lot about seeds, soil quality, and how to keep the pests away without spending a fortune. Being a producer company means we own the business together as farmers. It makes a difference when you know the person next to you has the same worries about the crop as you do. We don't use any big marketing terms because we don't need them. The quality of what we grow speaks for itself when it hits the crate. We’re just local folks from Kiravadi trying to make horticulture a bit more sustainable for the next generation. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from sunrise till the evening sets in over the fields.
