Cafe Hand To Mouth

Down on S P Office Road in Belgaum, there’s always a bit of a government feel because of the state offices nearby. Cafe Hand To Mouth is right in Ayodhya Nagar, located in the Mattikop Building. We are directly opposite the State Excise Office. It’s a busy road with a lot of people coming in for official work. They usually have a lot on their minds, so they come to us for a quick break. The name of the place is just something we liked, nothing too deep about it. We have a few tables and chairs inside. The walls are a bit plain, but we prefer it that way. It’s easy to maintain. We spend our mornings getting the prep work done. Cutting vegetables and getting the tea leaves ready takes time. Belgaum has decent weather most of the year, so we keep the windows open. The breeze helps. We don't have a big menu because we want to make sure what we do have is done right. Most of the people who come here are regulars from the local offices. We know their lunch times by heart. It’s a quiet kind of work, really. We just show up, do the cooking, clean up after everyone leaves, and go home. There’s no big drama here. It’s just a small business trying to do its part in Ayodhya Nagar.
