Gupta Traders

Gupta Traders is right in Ward No.13, not far from the Post Office in Chatham. If you see the Indian Petrol Pump, you’re pretty much there. This part of Khagaria gets quite hot in the summer, so we keep the doors open to catch whatever breeze comes through from the street. We handle a bit of everything here. The shop is filled with various goods, and sometimes it feels like we’re running out of room, but we always find a corner for new stock. It’s a local business, so we know most of the people who walk through the door by their first names. We don’t have a website or any of those modern things; we just talk to people and write things down in our big registers. Sometimes the trucks arrive late and we have to stay past closing to get everything unloaded and sorted. It’s just the way it goes. The floor is a bit uneven and the shelves are made of old wood, but they hold up well enough. We’ve been in this district for a long time and seen a lot of changes, but our little spot near the petrol pump stays mostly the same. We aren't trying to be anything big or fancy. We just want to make sure the trade keeps moving and the local people get what they came for without too much fuss or waiting around.
