B.T.V School Parbatta

I remember when we first started B.T.V School Parbatta in Kanhaiya Chak. It’s right here in Khagaria, zip code 851216, sitting along the road where everyone passes by. Most days, the morning starts with the sound of chairs dragging across the floor. We aren’t a fancy place with big glass walls or anything. It’s just a solid building where kids from the nearby houses come to spend their day. You’ll see the older students helping the younger ones with their bags near the entrance. Sometimes the monsoon makes the road outside a bit muddy, but the children still show up with their umbrellas. Inside, the walls have some charts pinned up, and maybe a few are slightly crooked because we put them up in a hurry. We spend a lot of time just making sure there’s enough chalk and that the fans are working when it gets hot in the afternoons. The teachers usually sit together during the break, drinking tea and talking about how much the kids have grown since last year. It’s a busy place, especially around noon when the noise level really picks up. We don’t have a big office with people in suits. Usually, it’s just one of us sitting at a wooden desk handling the registers. People in the neighborhood know where we are, so we don't need big signs. It’s just part of the local life here in Parbatta and we are happy to be here.
