Mother Teresa L D Convent School

You can find us on Tinich Road in Captainganj. Basti is a quiet enough place most of the time, and our school fits right in. It’s a convent school but don't think it's anything too posh. It’s just a solid building where we teach the local children. We have been here for a while and the locals know the name Mother Teresa L D Convent. The classrooms are filled with basic desks and chairs. We have a blackboard in every room. The teachers are hard workers who live in the area. They walk or bike to work every morning. We don't have a big bus fleet or anything like that. Most kids just get dropped off by their parents or walk if they live close enough. It gets a bit muddy when it rains because of the road outside, but we just clean up the floors and keep going. We focus on the daily lessons. There isn't a lot of extra stuff. We just want the kids to learn their math and science and languages. It’s a practical place. We don't have a big office with secretaries. If you need something, you just find one of us and ask. It's a simple way of doing things and it works for the people in Captainganj. We have a small gate at the front that we lock every evening to keep the place secure.
