Saree Museum

We have been here at Bata More in the Batanagar New Market area for a good while now. It is a busy place and the market always feels like it is moving. Most days, we are just opening up the shutters and dusting off the counters because the market gets quite dusty with all the people walking by. People come into Saree Museum looking for something to wear to a wedding or maybe just a simple cotton piece for home. We don't have fancy lights or anything, just rows of shelves packed with different fabrics. Sometimes the piles get a bit messy when we are showing things to customers, but that is just how it goes when you have so much stock. We know most of the other shopkeepers around here, and we usually get our tea from the same stall every afternoon. It is not a very big shop, but we try to keep enough variety so that anyone who walks in can find something they like. Life in Batanagar is fast, and we are just happy to be a part of the daily routine for the folks living around here. You might find us sitting out front when it is quiet, just watching the crowd at the Bata More crossing. It is a simple business, really. We just buy what looks good and hope the people who come in feel the same way about the colors and the work on the cloth. It is a quiet life in a loud market.
