Dara Fertilizers and Chemicals is located at Scf-4 in the Housing Board Colony on Barnala Road. It is a pretty easy spot to find if you are driving through that part of town. The shop is filled with bags of fertilizers and various chemical containers, so it has that very specific earthy smell. We spend most of our time dealing with the seasonal changes. When it is time for planting, the place gets really hectic with people coming in and out all day long. The rest of the year, it is a bit quieter and we spend our time checking the inventory and making sure everything is stored properly. The counter is usually covered in receipts and half-empty tea cups. We do not have a lot of space for a fancy showroom, so we just stack things where they fit. Barnala Road is always noisy with traffic, and we get a lot of dust coming in from the street, but you get used to it after a while. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming to us for years. We talk about the rain, the prices, and how the crops are looking this year. It is not a complicated business, just a matter of having what people need when they need it. We just keep the doors open and do our work without any fuss or unnecessary bother.
