R K Beauty Salon is located right in the middle of Maniharan Wali Gali, which is in the busy Kutub Khana area of Bareilly. If you know this part of the city, you know how narrow and crowded the lanes can get, especially during the wedding season or festivals. Our shop is quite small, just like most of the other businesses tucked into this part of town. I opened this place because I wanted to work for myself after spending a lot of years helping out in other people's shops. We mostly do basic stuff like haircuts, shaves, and simple face cleaning for the local men. The street right outside is always full of people buying bangles and clothes, so there is a lot of noise and shouting, but inside we try to keep things focused on the work. We have two old-fashioned barber chairs and a big mirror that has been here since the day we opened. I don't have a computer or a website or anything like that. People just walk in because they live nearby or they’ve heard about us from a neighbor while sitting at a tea stall. It gets very hot in the summer months, but we have a ceiling fan that works okay and keeps the air moving. Bareilly is a place where everyone knows everyone’s business, so we hear a lot of interesting stories while we work. It’s not a luxury place, just a spot to get your grooming done.
